One of the most important things you can do to help stop premature ejaculation is to be in a calm and relaxed state of mind.  Worrying about premature ejaculation will only lead to anxieties whenever you attempt to have sex with your partner.  This can be stressful enough to further aggravate premature ejaculation.  Even worst, you might not even be able to get an erection, which may lead to yet another sexual dysfunction.  When you start worrying about something going wrong during sex, there is huge chance your fears will come true.

Be aware that premature ejaculation has its emotional, mental and psychological roots.  Therefore if you think about it often, you may be causing more problems in the future.  Once you realize you have a problem, seek help to correct it.

Premature ejaculation occurs as the result of various reasons.  One of which is having hypersensitive genitals.  Using condoms can help lessen the sensitivity of the penis glans, which in turn may help you last longer during sex.  There are also some desensitizing creams that can be applied over the glans.

If your partner understands, be candid with her and tell her what to expect.  A sympathetic partner will be more than happy to ease your anxieties and help you with your problem. Someone who doesn’t probably is probably not worth having sex with again anyways!  If you have a regular sex partner, both of you should work on this together.

One way that helps control orgasm, is withdrawing from the vagina when you are about to climax.  Your partner can then pinch the glans of the penis and more often than not, orgasm retreats.  Doing this repeatedly cannot only help delay ejaculation at any given moment but it helps train your mind and body to control your orgasms in the future.

Another option is orgasm delay pills that promise to prolong intercourse and allow you to last longer while penetration is taking place.  Viagra and its derivatives are said to delay orgasm as much as they prolong a firmer erection.  As with any medications, there can be side effects and you are advised to consult with a doctor or expert on the subject before ingesting any type of medications to help with premature ejaculation.

Professional Help

While there are various products that can provide temporary relief, like desensitizing creams and pills that you can administer on your own, nothing compares to neutralizing the cause at its roots with the help of a professional.

Sometimes all it takes is talking through your problem and learning to control your mind.  Remember the old saying, “Mind Over Matter?”  Well sometimes all it takes is some counseling that teaches you how to control your mind and your orgasms.

You and your partner can attend counseling sessions with experts on the subject and you could be in for some surprises during the interviews.  Be very open about it, these counselors are there to help.  Sex encounter sessions need not be done in the clinic.  You and your partner can do this at home.  But be sure to follow any advice that your therapist gives.  Typical advice includes creating a relaxed, stress-free atmosphere during sex.  Also controlling your arousal levels can help a lot.  A more lengthy foreplay and exploring each other intimately is said to help level off the arousal stage.  Practicing controlling your arousal levels and exercising your pelvic muscles will help you last longer each time.

Whatever it is, having the confidence in yourself that what you are doing can delay and preclude premature ejaculation is a whole lot better that worrying about it.  Nothing good ever comes from worrying.
